Board Member Training Seminar
On November 12, 2009 Canyon Gate hosted a Board Member Training Seminar for their clients and future prospects. The seminar was a great success with more than thirty Board Members from a variety of Associations in attendance.
The group was provided dinner, training manuals and copies of "The Best of Association Times". A presentation was given by Melanie Holland, Kim Corcoran and Evelyn Saavedra with focus on each member understanding the characteristics of a Community Association, being able to identify the roles and responsibilities of the Board, members, and management, knowing the key components to effective meetings and understand how Canyon Gate contributes to the effective management of their community.
At the conclusion of the presentation, Board Members present asked questions and discussed scenarios with regard to their communities. Comments received afterward included how knowledgeable the Canyon Gate staff are, how useful the information is, how beneficial having a training seminar is for Board Members and that Board members are looking forward to future seminars.
The Board Member Training Seminar could not have been the success it was without all the time and assistance from several employees at Canyon Gate. From the early planning stages of invitations, RSVP's, last minute location changes due to overwhelming attendance and preparation of materials to the set-up and take-down of the seminar; thank you to all who contributed!
