Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk
Canyon Gate participated in the 2009 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in Albuquerque, NM on April 26, 2009 along with 15,000 other local supporters. Between fundraising events and vendor sponsorship, team 'Canyon Gate Cares' surpassed their goal of $1,500 by raising $1,661.27 for the American Cancer Society.
One fundraising event was an inner office bake sale and raffles which raised just over $100 in one day! The bake sale included pink cupcakes, cookies and juice drinks.
Seven Canyon Gate employees walked the five mile trek along the Rio Grande. They arrived early to get a jump start on the walk and enjoy the cooler part of the day. They completed the walk in approximately an hour and a half.
